Our Story

The bakery was started in 1933 by Carl and Anna Litschgi . Business boomed and in a few years’ time it expanded to the current 1807 West Galbraith location. Carl and Anna continued to run the bakery until 1962, except for a brief stint in the 50’s where it was leased out to Matt Perkins, who went on to start Perkins restaurant. The bakery changed hands once more in 1967 when the Litschgi’s sold it to their youngest daughter, Charlene Weitzel, and her husband, Gary.  In 2018, the Weitzel's retired. At that time, Matthew and Terry Patrick bought the bakery with all its delicious recipes and are dedicated to carrying on the traditions of NCH Bakery - traditions of importance to the loyal customers, the NCH neighborhood and Cincinnati.
